Queijadas de leite (Milk Cake Tartlets)

The word queijada originally referred to a little cheesecake usually made with queijo fresco (fresh cheese) or other Portuguese soft cheeses. While queijadas made with cheese still exist, the word can also describe other rich little cakes made without cheese. There are a huge variety of queijadas and these made with milk are extremely popular in the islands of the Azores.
